On Friday, June 5, two people were taken to a hospital in New York after the boat they were in capsized Thursday in Indian Lake.
According to the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection they responded to the 205 acre lake straddling the Connecticut New York border on a report of a capsized vessel with victims in the water. They arrived to find three people on shore in Sharon with the operator of the boat, 31 year old Casimir Dziegelewski, who was a resident of Sharon, uninjured. He was issued infractions for second degree reckless operation of a vessel, having an unregistered vessel and having an insufficient number of life jackets on board.
DEEP went on to say that a 22 year old man from Salisbury and a 20 year old woman from Meriden were taken to Mid Hudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie where they were treated for exhaustion and mild hypothermia after the incident.
It was not immediately clear what time the boat capsized or why.
