Annie Lennox’ Daughter in Kayaking Accident

On Saturday, August 8, the daughter of Annie Lennox, Tali Lennox-Fruchtmann was in a kayaking accident in Poughkeepsie.

According to the Dutchess County Sheriff’s office, Lennox- Fruchtmann was kayaking together with her boyfriend, Ian Jones on the Hudson River near the Staatsburgh State Historic Site. Their kayak capsized at around 9.30 a.m., possibly due to the strong current. Once the two were thrown into the water it was hard for them to stay together and nor were they wearing life vests.

Lennox-Fruchtmann was rescued and was uninjured but Jones was missing.

The search continued for 32 year old Jones through Sunday and his body was eventually discovered on Monday afternoon near the Poughkeepsie Yacht Club. The autopsy was carried out the following day and it was confirmed that Jones had died of drowning with no signs of foul play. The results of toxicology are still awaited and may take several weeks.
